ICE MOUNTAIN
Ice Mountain is best known for providing clean, clear drinking water. Here at MUCC, we know Ice Mountain for its generosity. For several years, Ice Mountain has been a primary sponsor of MUCC's TRACKS Magazine. Tracks is an upper elementary reader designed to teach students about conservation and Michigan wildlife and habitats.
Ice Mountain's support of TRACKS is not an oddity however. In fact, Ice Mountain is one of the few companies that focuses on sustainable water resource managemen. Ice Mountain has on-staff geologists that monitor its spring water sources and their surrounding areas. Supporting youth education also is not new to Ice Mountain. The company's WET program (Water Education for Teachers) has educated some 25 million kids about the importance of water conservation. The company also has a decade-long partnership with The Nature Conservancy which has led to the conservation of 426,000 acres of valuable natural resources. Ice Mountain also leases or purchases land around the springs from which their water comes from and leaves most of that land undeveloped to provide wildlife habitat.
