I enjoyed the interview but the audio was terrible. I cannot hear the interviewer asking the question so I have no idea what she is responding to. I know you guys are new to this so keep trying and improving.
The videos on the website are great and streaming the meetings is wonderful.
Thanks, Looking forward to the next installment.

DNRE Director Rebecca Humpheries interview was interesting but would have been more helpful if more substantial commentary had been made by her on issues to include exactly what kind of modification (if any) are planned in regard to hunting and fishing regulations under her stewardship of the new DNRE organization. Welcome Rebecca….......from a comment made in this interview, it sounds like you are well aware of the “sins” of the past DEQ management when these two groups together.  (the budget and manpower siphoning from the DNR side and the many other outrageous actions by the Enviornmental Div.)  I believe there is always a power struggle is such mergers and there will be again.  I expect the Environmental Division will win out again.  Please be aware that much more scrutiny will be made of the “books” this time around.  Also, please put in place a procedure to avoid hiring new Conservations Officers that are State Trooper wantabees…..as what many believe was the case at leaset prior 10 yrs to 1996.  This practice has people in the DNR that have little or no experiece in areas such as hunting and fishing but are C.O.s.  This same hiring practice was/is done in Illinois.
Note that their DNR vehicles go as far as having 10 inch gold letters stating “Conservation POLICE). I hope Michigan moves in the opposite direction.

I hope for the best, but please note that for many in Michigan, 1996 and Gov. englers split of the departments was a day to celebrate.
As you say, the past is the past, we truely want to give you our support and best wishes, good luck and thank you for taking on such a daunting task !

To Ms. Rebecca Humphries welcome to the Directorship of DNRE and the tremendous responsibility for providing leadership that it entails.
The interview was just enough to let us all see what shee looks like but time will tell just who she is, how much she knows about natural resources, envirmonmental quality, and how she can work with all sides of Michigan from those who fish, hunt, trap, etc. to the companies that use our natural resources for profit.
Justifying decisions through scientific evidence and sharing that strategy with all is most important to gain support.
I hope MUCC members give Director Humpries an opportunity to succeed for Michigan.
