Perch, perch and more perch

Well, the gear is loaded and I'm heading off to a destination for many Michigan fishermen, even though it's a bit across the border into Canada. Lake Simco draws a lot of Michigan anglers each year because of its abundance of perch, and big ones at that. I'll be heading over there to talk a little about ice fishing techniques and maybe bring back some footage of cool gear to check out.

One thing I can't wait to see is a shanty that folds up and rides just off the back rack of your ATV or UTV. It folds down quickly and makes for easier rides out on the big water without pulling a shanty or sled behind. I've also been told these guys have found a slick auger holder that is simple but yet works like a charm. Should be a fun trip! Hope the perch are cooperative.
