Tony Hansen, Deputy Director of Michigan United Conservation Clubs and the editor of Michigan OutofDoors Magazine and MichiganOutofDoors.com along with MichiganOutofDoors.com video producer Gabe VanWormer will fish for 30 consecutive hours and attempt to catch at least 30 different species of fish that live in Michigan's waters. The event, which will be held in the Traverse City area, will begin at 7 a.m. on June 8 and conclude at 1 p.m. on June 9.
The goal is to showcase the diverse fishery that Michigan has to offer and highlight the important role that fishing plays in the lives of thousands of Michigan residents. The event is a fundraiser to help MUCC stop the spread of invasive species including the dreaded Asian carp. You can assist in this effort by making a pledge to show your support and by signing onto the letter that will be sent to President Obama urging him to close the Chicago locks.
Let's show the world that anglers matter. Let's make our voices heard and tell President Obama that we want Asian carp kept out of Michigan!
